The frame is made with an aluminium core wrapped with EPP. The other parts are made from plastic and aluminium. The larger 22.5cm wheels are made from a PU/rubber mix and are slightly soft to touch.

The Nordic Pioneer has a durable EPP foam exterior and aluminum core — not carbon fiber like our Carbon Ultralight and Carbon Overland. It weighs 5.9 kg, placing it between the Ultralight (4.8 kg) and Overland (6.7 kg). Its puncture-proof PUR rubber wheels are larger than the Ultralight’s for better outdoor comfort, but smaller than the Overland’s all-terrain tires. The EPP frame is bump-proof and more resistant to scratches than our carbon models — ideal for everyday indoor and outdoor use. A more affordable alternative to our Carbon range, without compromising on quality or comfort.
Great question! The inverted handles encourage you to stand more upright and closer to the frame and this encourages good posture. Joint pain can be an issue with traditional shaped handles but the ergonomically shaped byACRE handles mean you steer the walker with the palm of your hand rather than using your finger, wrist and hand joints.
It’s made for both. The large wheels and shock-absorbing frame make it great for outdoor use, and it’s easy to handle indoors too.

Yes. The Nordic Pioneer folds flat with minimum effort and is only 24 cm wide when folded. It can easily be lifted into the trunk of a car and will fit most car trunks. However, we recommend measuring your trunk and comparing it with the rollator’s dimensions to be sure.
Each airline has its own rules about transportation of mobility aids. Some will let you take it right to the aircraft door, others require check in. Some will let you check in a mobility device and it won't count against your luggage allocation. It's best to contact the airline in advance and ask what they'll allow and what you should do.
The byACRE walkers are super lightweight and, because of this, many airlines allow people to take it straight to the airline door and then the airline staff store it in the 'wheelchair closet' in the cabin.
If checking your walker in, We recommend using a byACRE Travel Bag to help protect the walker from bumps and scratches.
Some customers simply use the box that it comes in to transport it, which offers extra protection.
Some airline baggage handlers can be rough on gear, so it's be a good idea to get travel insurance that will cover your walker from damage, and make use of the fragile stickers and tags - these all good things to help in the quest to arrive with your walker intact and ready to roll.
